ohhhh man

God damnit that diva scene always got me. ALWAYS.

The drum sequencing and vocal manipulation is superb here. I really enjoy this. Didn't think i was going to haha I'll be honest.

The song just keeps going and I love. It's one of those songs I really don't want to end haha.

Thank you for this submission :D

If you're willing to take the time, I've got a track up myself called beats and broadswords. A review would be much appreciated :D

ElectroBeast responds:

Tahnks For the awsome review. Ive been meaning to respond for a while, but lost internet for a what seems like an eternity.

hmmmm

I don't understand why you're getting such low scores on here. :( Here's a 5. This is absolutely gorgeous. Keep it up please.

Chinashima responds:

People are evil lol and like to 0 bomb me. But I will keep it up anyways ^_^

the idea is great

I really dig the structure and the melodies you've got going on here.

One thing that I would recommend though, that would help your track out alot here, would be some different drum samples. The kick is decent, but the snare sounds very Floops lol

and that synth that comes in at 1:00 seems to be almost in a world of it's own, just dropping by to say " whats up" put a very very tiny bit of verb on it, and lower the volume a tad :D

Other than that i'm digging it and look forward to more submissions of yours :D

If you're willing to take the time, I've got a new track up myself called beats and broadswords. A review would be much appreciated :D

OpenLight responds:

Ha thanks for the review. I agree with the snare part. I needed something to use, and I had one better, but it wasn't loud enough so I had to use this that one. I might upload a longer v2 later.

The part at 1:00 was supposed to be almost symbolic of taking out a Gameboy or something in the middle of the song and playing a game, but in the v2 I may remove it. Haha I just did it as almost a joke for me and my friends.

Thanks so much for your compliments, they are appreciated. I have another song up that I think may be a little better. I put it as Trance but I think it's more Techno, so I might change it. Your songs are amazing, by the way. I might try a different style, but as of now my resources are limited. I am using Floops, haha, so all I have to work with is the stuff in there. I haven't searched all through it yet though, so I might just do that.

Thanks again!

This has a very Boards of Canadaesque sound to it. I really dig it the chord progressions are fantastic the drum sequencing is great, and the overall soundscape is superb. I'm gonna keep my eye on you.

haywirehaywire responds:

thanks bro, glad you like it, this was a real experimental song for me.

LAYERING!

this is a fantastic song man. I really do enjoy the melodies and beat itself. but i can't stress enough how important layering is.

In fact.. so much so that I layered an excerpt of this song and put it on my profile .. Don't worry i'll be pulling it down after you listen to it.

Just go to my audio page and listen to it, it's called " YouriX NUB layering DoJ"

and no, i dont mean nub as in nooby I mean nub as in the first three letters of my producer name so don't think that's a stab at you.

Seriously though, Give it a listen.

YouriX responds:

Wow now i see it! The use of the Drums and layering them! Man i got alot to learn!

EPIC!

The beats in this are absolutely amazing. I actually let this loop for about 4 hours this morning when I found it.

The chipmunk and the vocal samples thrown in really tie the track together.

The frequency balance you have here is out of this world.

Not to mention the amazing use of secondary dominants.

The melody is really familiar, but I can't seem to put my finger on it.

Keep it up guys, I see alot of good things coming out of this!

That's not sequenced....

A live piano recording on newgrounds ?! You need to remove this right now. Real talent on NG ? !?!??! ABSOLUTELY UN CALLED FOR! !!

Srsly .. I wish I could say I was kidding when I tell you that I just counted 2 tears rolling down my cheek.

Even with the emotional context of the story put aside. This is an absolutely beautiful song. And it's live .. it's real.. it's not a computer playing some sequenced notes.

Thank you for this. Thank you so much.

SatoDraygonFist2 responds:

Can't believe I didn't read this before.

Thanks so much for your response. You're legit my favorite artist on Newgrounds, so to read your serious comment is...like...A U2 fan being kissed by Bono. Except less creepy.

The last couple versions were getting a bit of disapproval for not having a higher quality mic, or being more properly mastered. I replied politely that A) I did not have those resources B) If I did, I might not use them. The emotion behind the song is raw, and thus the song itself will be raw.

Hymns in general just invite medley. Thanks for being a part of mine.

mmm grimy

oily greasy and all together delicious IMHO :D

Developer responds:

Nubbiiii, I have to listen to your stuff right away :)))

OMMMM NOMMMM :D

Grimey, grungy and fantastic. Alot going on, you really do well with your soundscapes. Takes me to a place I haven't been in a while.

InvisibleObserver responds:

I spend a lot of time just programming the synthesizers, tweaking samples and whatnot to have a unique sound before even writing with them.

Then commence writing, and commence song progression.
