:( fairly dissapointed
I got around to reading some of my reviews and came across yours. While I can definitely respect criticism, I was kind of hoping to hear something that blew me away here. I won't lie, the lead at about :45 or so is pretty fantastic but the random noises floating around constantly panned to the left kind of drove me nuts and really stole the attention from the main melody.
I think if you were to remove that it could be a pretty darned groovy track :D
That's not sequenced....
A live piano recording on newgrounds ?! You need to remove this right now. Real talent on NG ? !?!??! ABSOLUTELY UN CALLED FOR! !!
Srsly .. I wish I could say I was kidding when I tell you that I just counted 2 tears rolling down my cheek.
Even with the emotional context of the story put aside. This is an absolutely beautiful song. And it's live .. it's real.. it's not a computer playing some sequenced notes.
Thank you for this. Thank you so much.
Can't believe I didn't read this before.
Thanks so much for your response. You're legit my favorite artist on Newgrounds, so to read your serious comment is...like...A U2 fan being kissed by Bono. Except less creepy.
The last couple versions were getting a bit of disapproval for not having a higher quality mic, or being more properly mastered. I replied politely that A) I did not have those resources B) If I did, I might not use them. The emotion behind the song is raw, and thus the song itself will be raw.
Hymns in general just invite medley. Thanks for being a part of mine.
mmm grimy
oily greasy and all together delicious IMHO :D
Nubbiiii, I have to listen to your stuff right away :)))
True dat, intro's sick
He's right, the intro for this is wicked sick. The mastering on your drums is pretty damned nice as well. and the choral stabs are beautiful ( i'm a sucker for choral stabs) You really managed to get that punch in the mid-lows on your kick, which really gives it the power it needs :D
only thing I could possibly reccomend for this song would be
more low end ( not necessarily a bass line just something else down there)
variation in the drums ( The problem with producing DNB is that it's really easy to get a drum beat going on that you like without much change to it)
:D
$0.02
OMMMM NOMMMM :D
Grimey, grungy and fantastic. Alot going on, you really do well with your soundscapes. Takes me to a place I haven't been in a while.
I spend a lot of time just programming the synthesizers, tweaking samples and whatnot to have a unique sound before even writing with them.
Then commence writing, and commence song progression.
:) :D
now THIS is fantastic :D the synthwork is spectacular, the drum sequencing works really well here. The only thing I could possibly reccomend is a bit more work on the mastering, your low end is really squashing everything else out. But other than that this is a superb track :)
Thanks nub! :D
Sorry my reply was so late!
And yeah, we haven't quite 'mastered' mastering yet, har har. Thanks for the tip though :)
ohhh you
You sneaky bastard, I remember you telling me that you were working on a demo track for FL. It really turned out well man Everything I'd expect from you.
God damn you
This is absolutely fantastic. I actually had an idea to do something along these lines a ways back, but I didn't feel the ending was going to be good ahah
